Kimi Raikkonen has listed his personalised Ferrari F12 for sale, with a price tag of around £2million set for the 2007 World Champion’s car.
Raikkonen’s F12 TDF World Champion Edition has been designed with the former Ferrari driver in mind, with his race number 7 discreetly placed on the backrest and the roof of the one-off car.
Only 800 F12berlinetta models were ever made, but the former World Champion’s car is a unique version of the model having been designed specifically for him.
Luxury dealer Carstar AG are selling the Finn’s car and the lucky buyer will be getting a well-regarded car in the motoring world – having been chosen as Supercar of the Year in 2012 by Top Gear Magazine.
The starting price for a standard F12 was around £240,000 when the car was released but, unsurprisingly, the illustrious former owner and customised model will attract a nine-fold increase on that price.
A 6.3-litre V12 is under the bonnet, generating around 780 horsepower, a 0-60 time of less than three seconds and a supposed top speed of around 210mph.
‘Lightly used’ would be a fair description of Raikkonen’s car too, with the sale listing stating it only has around 1,200 miles on the clock.
Raikkonen walked away from Formula 1 with more race starts than any other driver in history, 349 to his name at the end of his career.
He has not sounded too wistful about leaving the sport either, saying recently he was happy to be away from the “bullsh*t” associated with Formula 1.
“We know it, but nobody says it. Things I don’t think that even should be,” he said, quoted by Motorsport.com.
“A lot of things are such fake things in here. It’s good to be out. Mentally, it’s very good to be out of all of that bullsh*t for a while.”
He added he may never race in any category again, but the Sauber Group would be happy to facilitate a racing return in another series for the 42-year-old should he so choose.
